A quick overview of high speed internet an equipment. Its pretty good for DSL type service and this is not a brag video! Its just some facts about the subject if you are curious about the services here in Japan. Take it for what it is. Some are faster and some are slower. The service is solid and I have not experienced any problems along the lines of throttling or rush hour traffic. I am not an expert on computers but I know my way around as a modern user. @TheMacHelpChannel Rifoff? Bah, I have 0.3 Mbps DW and 0.1 Mbps UP for … $133 a month, with download limits at around 13.5GBpm, and boosters starting at $13 per 1.5GB and $33 per 3.5GB … welcome to South Africa. :)

I am still paying £40 a month for 1 mb down and 330 upload with a BT land line. But all the wires have recently been changed and are switching over to the 21st Network, may improve a little but not any time soon. So if in UK, go for fiber optic cable, Virgin Media has the fastest @ 50 mb down and 1.5 mb upload, for about the same price as BT. Still not as fast as Japan but it’s all we have.

here in the philippines, for around 300 dollars per month. you get an internet connection at the speeds of 100mbps.
with burst speeds of up to 117mbps.

don’t believe me? google it up. “globe hyperspeed”

it’s a fiber-optic internet service from one of the largest telecom. providers here.

    I’m good enough with 10mbps.

majority of the internet connection in japan is fiber optics so its really fast. the reason fiber optics aren’t popular in the US is because it is so sparsley populated and it’ll cost a fortune to install it everywhere which will make it expensive for customers.

Here in my country, I use a DSL broadband package which costs me P1,200 a month but included in this fee is my land phone. I should be getting 768Kbps and from 10pm onwards I should experience a “burstible speed” up to 1280kbps but sometimes i don’t get this connection.
