I re-installed Windows XP yesterday and did not have anti-virus software. Now I have this rouge anti-virus thing (Personal Protector) which is preventing me from going into Safe Mode as well as downloading AVG. Is there a way to fool this thing into letting me download something to get rid of it?

How do I transfer malwarebytes anti- virus between computers?
The virus is on my lap top. This lap top ALREADY has malwarebytes anti virus on it - however the virus prevents me from running it.
The virus also prevents my Internet and my safe mode.
Can anyone give me a step by step guide on how to get the malwarebytes or any other antivirus on to my lap top?

How do you know what anti virus program to trust?
Hello I purchased a new computer back in July of this year. I ran out of the trial period of my antivirus and now I don’t know which one to trust. I am running the vista program. Can anyone tell me their opinion as to which anti virus is the best on the market? Thank You!
I already have Norton Anti virus in my computer but it’s the 2005 version and it got expired, I don’t have the CD with me and so I can’t update. I want to download a new anti virus but do I need to remove the Norton anti virus before I install the new one? What other things do I need to consider before installing?
